"Although notice of administrative leave for all non-essential personnel was on the Commission's main phone number as of 6:30 p.m. September 11, 2001, and the notice was also posted on radio and television, Commission personnel may have been understandably confused by the notice that all federal agencies would be open today. Please be advised that the administrative leave is in effect for all non-essential personnel in all CFTC offices for September 12, 2001. We expect all offices, with the exception of the New York office, to be on regular schedules tomorrow. The New York office will remain closed until further notice, and employees of that office will remain on administrative leave. Additional information will be available on the Commission's main phone number, +1 202-418-5000, as it becomes available."
