Meritz Securities and Mirae Asset Securities have launched new suites of copper Total Return ETNs in South Korea, tracking Solactive Copper Total Return Leverage Index Family. Copper remains an important industrial commodity, with demand supported by electrification, power infrastructure, renewable energy systems, electric vehicles, and data centers. At the same time, copper prices remain sensitive to global economic conditions and changing supply-demand dynamics, supporting the development of a range of index-based strategies linked to the commodity.
The Solactive Copper Leverage Index family is based on the Solactive Future Series 5-Day Roll Copper Excess Return USD Index. The relevant indices apply leverage factors of 1, 2, and −2 to the underlying copper futures strategy and incorporate a U.S. three-month interest rate in the Total Return calculation.
The Solactive Copper Leverage KRCD3M Index family follows the same underlying copper futures strategy and leverage framework, while incorporating KRCD3M as the interest rate in the Total Return calculation. The index families apply their respective leverage factors on a daily basis.
The ETNs listed on 23 October 2026 on the Korea Exchange.
