Orkla and Nordstjernen shareholdings in Elkem to be consolidated
The Board resolved that the shares in Elkem ASA held by Nordstjernen Holding ASA are to be considered as equivalent to Orkla ASA´s own holding of shares in Elkem ASA for the purposes of the provisions of the Securities Trading Act on mandatory offers. This consolidation of shareholdings means that Orkla ASA is required to give immediate notice either that it intends to make an offer to purchase all the remaining shares in the company or that shares will be sold to obviate the duty to make an offer.
This decision may be appealed to the Oslo Børs Appeals Committee. Any appeal must be submitted within two weeks. If an appeal is submitted the implementation of the decision may, upon request, be deferred pending consideration of the appeal.
A separate press release has been issued on this matter.
