Total weekly turnover (single sided) of all futures contracts was Rs 43,403.91 crore for the week ended April 12 (Friday-Thursday) against 43,680.76 crore in the previous week.
MCX COMDEX closed at 2280.49 points, up 0.03% over the previous close of 2279.82 points. MCX Agri Index closed at 1763.61 points, down 1.02% over the previous close of 1781.87 points, MCX Energy Index closed at 2278.18 points, down 0.14% against the previous close of 2281.26 points, and MCX Metal Index closed at 2769.28 points, up 0.51% over the previous close of 2755.32 points.
In the Bullion segment, all MCX Gold contracts registered a turnover of Rs 7,968.28 crore, while all MCX Silver contracts recorded a turnover of Rs 8,240.54 crore. Open interest for all gold contracts was 9,684.8 kgs and total volume recorded was 83,428.5 kgs. Open interest for all silver contracts was 4,35,795 kgs and total volume was 41,49,370 kgs .
In the Metal segment, MCX Copper contracts across the board registered a turnover of Rs 12,353.76 crore with open interest of 14,634 tonnes and total volume of 3,68,315 tonnes. MCX Zinc contracts recorded a turnover of Rs 5,225.06 crore, open interest of 32,120 tonnes and total volume of 3,35,775 tonnes.
In the Energy segment, all MCX crude oil contracts registered a turnover of Rs 5,474.65 crore, open interest of 10,76,200 barrels and total volume of 2,01,47,300 barrels while natural gas contracts recorded a turnover of Rs 303.41 crore, open interest of 15,48,500 mmbtu and total volume of 90,13,500 mmbtu.
Some of the other major agri-commodities traded on MCX registered the following turnover:- All Mentha Oil contracts registered a turnover of Rs. 853.97 crore, open interest of 1994.04 tonnes and total volume of 14,189.76 tonnes.
- All MCX Refined Soy Oil contracts, with open interest of 52,470 tonnes, registered a turnover of Rs. 933.07 crore and total volume of 1,95,170 tonnes.
- All MCX Potato (Agra+ Tarkeshwar) contract registered a turnover of Rs. 229.41 crore, open interest of 1,30,920 tonnes and total volume of 4,02,840 tonnes.
