MCX Records Rs. 1,50,426.66 Crore Turnover During The Week - Weekly Market Report (August 27, 2021 To September 2, 2021)

• Crude Oil Sep21 gains by 1.82% while Cotton Oct21 drops by 2.60%

India’s leading  commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.1,50,426.66 crores in various commodity futures, option on futures & Index futures contracts listed at MCX during the week August 27 to September 2, 2021. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs.1,21,944.88 crores, options on commodity futures for Rs.27,162.44 crores (notional) & index futures for Rs.1,319.34 crores.

Commodity Futures Contracts

Futures contracts turnover at MCX was Rs. 1,21,944.98 crores with 16,12,743 trades.

Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 45,892.24 crores. GOLD Oct-21 contract was down by 0.52% to Rs. 46,991 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Sep-21 contract was down by 0.31% to Rs. 37,869 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Sep-21 contract was down by 0.28% to Rs. 4,707 per 1 gram. On other hand, GOLDM Sep-21 contract was up down 0.24% to Rs. 47,048 per 10 gram. SILVER Sep-21 contract was up by 1% to Rs. 63,348 per kg, SILVERM Nov-21 contract was down by 0.03% to Rs. 63,553 per kg, SILVERMIC Nov-21 contract was down by 0.04% to Rs. 63,543 per kg.

Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 22,095.03 crores. ALUMINIUM Sep-21 contract was up by 1.63% to Rs.212.40 per kg, COPPER Sep-21 contract was down by 0.29% to Rs.712.05 per kg, LEAD Sep-21 contract was up by 2.26% to Rs.181.05 per kg, NICKEL Sep-21 contract was up by 2.03% to Rs.1,439.30 per kg, and ZINC Sep-21 contract was down by 1.11% to Rs.243.95 per kg.

Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 52,712.63 crores. CRUDEOIL Sep-21 contract was up by 1.82% to Rs. 5,136 per BBL and NATURALGAS Sep-21 contract was up by 9.02% to Rs.340.70 per MMBTU.

AGRI: Turnover of AGRI products was Rs.1,244.98 crores. KAPAS Apr-22 contract was down by 2% to Rs.1,398.50 per 20 kgs, COTTON Oct-21 contract was down by 2.60% to Rs.25,450 per bales, CPO Sep-21 contract was up by 1.05% to Rs.1,154.50 per 10 kgs, MENTHAOIL Sep-21 contract was up by 1.14% to Rs.946.70 per kg, and RUBBER Sep-21 contract was down by 0.76% to Rs.17,868 per 100 kgs.

Options on Commodity Futures Contracts

Options on Commodity Futures contracts turnover at MCX was Rs. 27,162.44 crores (notional) with 3,38,014 trades.

Gold Options clocked turnover of Rs. 3,635.94 crores (notional) with total number of trades as 6,753, Silver & SilverM Options clocked turnover of Rs. 219.73 crores (notional) with total number of trades as 1,277, and Crude Oil Options clocked turnover of Rs. 23,300.21 crores (notional) with total number of trades as 3,29,948.

Index Futures Contracts

Index Futures Contracts turnover at MCX was Rs. 1,319.34 crores with 16,494 trades.

MCXBULLDEX clocked turnover of Rs. 746.99 crores with volume of 10,542 lots and total number of trades as 9,660 & MCXMETLDEX clocked turnover of Rs. 572.35 crores with volume of 7,330 lots and total number of trades as 8,834. MCXBULLDEX Sep21 contract was down by 0.40% to 14109 per unit, and MCXMETLDEX Sep21 contract was up by 0.53% to 15612 per unit.
