McObject®, developer of the ultra-fast and scalable eXtremeDB® database management system, has been shortlisted for the ‘IoT Vendor of the Year’ and ‘IoT Product of the Year’ categories at the 2018 Computing Technology Product Awards. eXtremeDB is used in over 28 million IoT devices and in numerous verticals, including aerospace, networking, automotive and others. Industry giants such as GoPro, Boeing, Motorola, DirecTV and ViaSat as well as financial institutions and exchanges use it for its incomparable speed and efficiency; it was the first database system to cater specifically for real-time embedded systems.
The company recently achieved new record-breaking benchmark results when independently tested by The Securities Technology Analysis Center (STAC) using the STAC M3 benchmark suite. The test is the standard for industry testing of high-speed time series data analytics, designed to measure the performance of processing tick-by-tick financial market data.
Chris Mureen, COO of McObject, said: “We are very pleased to be shortlisted for two categories in Computing’s respected awards. Our work with IoT devices is always challenging and rewarding as we help our clients address their market requirements, and we are continuously adding enhancements to our system to keep them ahead of the technology curve.” Mureen continued, “Our clients rely on us to enable their businesses to deal with the exponential increase in and importance of data-intensive applications and they know that we are committed to always delivering outstanding performance.”
The Computing Technology Product Awards, comprising 29 categories, are a prestigious, technology-only award created to recognize the companies, products and personalities achieving outstanding results in the global technology industry. After two entry stages, the finalists have been selected from hundreds of entries. The winners’ announcement will be subject to votes received from their peers, clients and industry leaders.
McObject’s shortlisting comes only five months after winning the Big Data Excellence Awards, another major Computing award. McObject’s win in the ‘Outstanding Structured Database Award’ category recognized the unrivalled capabilities of, and benefits provided by, eXtremeDB.
