McObject Records Another Year Of Impressive Innovation And Development

Date 15/12/2017

2017 has been a groundbreaking year for McObject®, developer of the ultra-powerful eXtremeDB® database management system. The company has built upon the successes of 2016 with a range of groundbreaking product releases and enterprising partnerships, including a collaboration with GoldenSource, that brings the fastest available Enterprise Data Management (EDM) for regulatory compliance to market.

Steve Graves summed up the past twelve months: ‘‘2017 was an important year in our development. We made great strides in both the financial and IoT markets through innovation, partnerships and new customers. Our aim is to provide cutting-edge technology to our clients and satisfy their current and future needs, something we have undoubtedly achieved with our eXtremeDB enhancements this year. I’m thrilled with the GoldenSource partnership, which enables financial firms to meet the immediate MiFID II and FRTB regulatory requirements.”

Graves adds: “We were honoured to have eXtremeDB shortlisted by the Big Data and IoT Excellence Awards in the Outstanding Structured Database category. Everyone at McObject is proud to have played a part in our successes of 2017 and in helping to expand customer relationships, ranging from BlueScope and ViaSat to Sandvine.”

Enhancements to the Financial/Time Series Edition of eXtremeDB include built-in feed handlers for Thomson Reuters and Vela and 4x faster data loading for large volumes of tick data; they enable fast development for risk and quant modelling, helping financial firms implement solutions for risk management, surveillance and compliance. Case in point: The partnership between McObject and GoldenSource delivers the fastest available EDM for regulatory compliance and is a significant leap forward for the RegTech sector.

The IoT industry benefitted from the release of eXtremeDB v.7.1 and its enhanced transmission security, incremental backup/restore, SQL engine improvements, and upgraded encryption.

McObject looks forward to building on the momentum in the IoT and RegTech markets in 2018.
