Mark I. Salvacion Joins Legal Department Of The Philadelphia Stock Exchange

Attorney Mark I. Salvacion recently joined the legal department of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange (PHLX). He will serve in the position of Director and Counsel at the Exchange.

In his new role, Mr. Salvacion will assume responsibility for strategic transactions involving the PHLX, its subsidiaries and operating units. In addition, he will serve as primary counsel for the Stock Clearing Corporation of Philadelphia (SCCP) and the Philadelphia Depository Trust Company (Philadep), both subsidiaries of the PHLX. He will also provide legal counsel to PHLX's financial automation department.

Previous to his position at the PHLX, Mr. Salvacion was the Deputy Counsel and Corporate Secretary for the Philadelphia-based Ashton Technology Group, Inc. From 1998 to 2000, he was an associate at Ballard Spahr Andrews and Ingersoll, LLP in the business and finance department. Mr. Salvacion also served as Senior Counsel in the Office of the General Counsel, Division of Enforcement, at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Salvacion earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa. and law degree from Northeastern University School of Law in Boston, Mass. A native of Lodi, New Jersey, Mr. Salvacion currently resides in Dresher, Pennsylvania with his wife and daughter.
