Maritime London Appoints New Executive Director

Maritime London is pleased to announce the appointment of Tony Funnell as its new Executive Director with immediate effect. Tony spent 38 years working for the Institute of London Underwriters, the last eight of which were in the position of Chief Executive.

Tony will be working from the Baltic Exchange.

David Cobb, Maritime London's Chairman said: "We are very pleased to be able to welcome Tony Funnell, whose long experience in the marine insurance business will be of invaluable assistance to Maritime London at a time when the organisation is actively expanding its activities and extending its membership."

Tony will be working to support the aims of Maritime London, which are to maintain and enhance London's position as the world's premier maritime centre; promote all the maritime interests in London, working as necessary with other bodies and other organisations; and encourage inward location of foreign maritime interests.
