Marek Dietl Elected FESE Board Member

Date 20/06/2018

  • President of the GPW Management Board Marek Dietl has been elected Member of the Board of the Federation of European Securities Exchanges (FESE)
  • FESE represents public regulated markets. It has 33 full members from 27 countries, as well as observer members and affiliate members

The Board is FESE’s superior body after the General Assembly. Board Members are elected for a term of three years. They frame overall strategy of the organisation, implement and oversee FESE’s policies of financial market integration and development, co-operation in trading, clearing and security depositories, as well as regulation.

Election to FESE’s Board is a great honour. I wish to thank the other Board Members for their confidence. In view of new regulatory requirements implemented and proposed at EU level, which are particularly relevant to all of the EU’s capital markets, international collaboration is more important than ever before. Membership of FESE’s Board will help to integrate GPW with other European markets and promote the investment opportunities offered by Poland and the CEE region,” said President of the Management Board of the Warsaw Stock Exchange Marek Dietl.

Marek Dietl is the third representative of Poland to have been elected to FESE’s bodies. Former GPW CEO Adam Maciejewski was a Member of the Board of the Federation of European Securities Exchanges. GPW’s first CEO Wiesław Rozłucki was Deputy Chair of FESE’s Working Committee.

GPW has worked with FESE since 1992. GPW became FESE’s member in 1999 and full member in June 2004. FESE represents public regulated markets. It has 33 full members from 27 countries as well as observer members and affiliate members.
