Marc Lackritz, President of the Securities Industry Association, Comments On SEC Vote Regarding Proxy Materials

On November 29 Marc Lackritz, President of the Securities Industry Association (SIA) made the following statement on the SEC’s 5-0 vote in favor of the electronic distribution of annual proxy material.

“We welcome the SEC taking additional steps toward using technology more effectively on behalf of investors, and appreciate the Commission’s continued recognition that in this Internet era, “access” to information on the web is equal to “delivery” in the pre-Internet era. We look forward to working with the Commission to find additional ways to reduce the cost of regulation without undermining its effectiveness.”
