The familiarization programme will be conducted at the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange from 30 June 2001 until 4 August 2001.
MDEX Chief Operating Officer Dr. Zaha Rina Zahari said the programme will significantly assist industry participants to be fully updated on the merged business rules.
"Through this programme, MDEX would like to ensure that industry participants are well-versed with the merged business rules to equip themselves to face the latest developments in the derivatives market.
"However, the success of this programme depends on the support and commitment of everyone involved, therefore we urge industry participants to make full use of this opportunity to participate in this programme," she said.
It is compulsory for participants who have completed Module 4 and/or Module 5 of the Malaysian Futures & Options Registered Representative (MFORR) examination to attend the programme, particularly for the Executive Directors of MDEX Trading Members, Futures Broker Representatives, Compliance Officers, Local Members and Trading Permit Holders.
Failure to attend this programme would result in participants having to sit for a new examination to be conducted by the Securities Commission.
