50 Moncler models lined the steps of Borsa Italiana today, dressed in the luxury retailer’s trademark padded ski jackets, to mark the company’s first day of trading on the Italian Stock Exchange.
Shares in the Italian company moved up over 40 per cent amid very heavy trading following its IPO which was 27 times oversubscribed. The IPO, was the largest in Italy for 3 years, raising 681 million euros.
Moncler follows in the footsteps of other luxury companies listing on Borsa Italiana including Ferragamo, Bruno Cucinelli and Moleskine which have helped the Italian exchange establish itself as the pre-eminent global venue for the luxury, fashion and design sectors.
