LuxSE Reports All-Time High Listing Numbers And Strong Financial Results For 2025

Date 25/06/2026

In a year marked by geopolitical tensions and market volatility, the Luxembourg Stock Exchange admitted 18,600+ new securities on its markets, a record number in the history of the Exchange, solidifying its position in global capital markets.

At the annual general meeting of the shareholders held earlier today, the Luxembourg Stock Exchange (LuxSE) released its financial results for the financial year ending 31 December 2025, reporting a solid performance driven by high activity levels despite the challenging geopolitical context shaping 2025. With record listing numbers and strong growth in trading transactions, LuxSE reinforced its position as the world’s leading exchange for international debt securities and sustainable finance in 2025.

LuxSE reported operational revenues of EUR 47.6 million for 2025, an increase of 5% compared with 2024. The operational revenues for 2025 were mainly driven by the company’s strong listing activity throughout the year, resulting in 18,600+ new listings at the close of the year. This represents an all-time high in terms of the number of new financial securities admitted in a single year since the Exchange started its activities almost a century ago. LuxSE also reported a net profit of EUR 11.4 million, up from EUR 8.1 million in 2024, representing a 41% increase year-over-year, partly driven by significant growth in the company’s non-operating profit.

Despite a challenging market environment and geopolitical uncertainty, the Luxembourg Stock Exchange delivered strong financial results in 2025. Not only did we reach a new record in terms of listing numbers, we also saw growth in trading activity and data services, particularly in sustainable bond data. Throughout the year, we continued to innovate and shape market developments with transition finance as a key focus, reinforcing our longstanding commitment to sustainable finance more broadly. We also remain committed to advancing digital finance in capital markets while continuing to harness technology to strengthen our own efficiency and resilience,” commented Julie Becker, CEO of LuxSE.

Expanding global foothold

2025 saw strong issuance activity by sovereign issuers in particular, as governments turned to capital markets to fund national priorities in defence, energy security and infrastructure development, and advance the climate transition. In 2025, securities worth EUR 1.65 trillion were listed on LuxSE’s markets, up 14% compared to 2024, and giving the Exchange a 32% global market share in terms of new, listed international bonds in 2025. LuxSE continued to expand its service offering in response to evolving market needs by developing EM3S, a new listing option for sophisticated financial securities.

With 49,994 securities admitted on its markets and on the Securities Official List as of 31 December 2025, including more than 47,000 debt instruments, LuxSE reported a 12% increase year-over-year in the total number of listed securities at year end.

2025 was another excellent year for the Luxembourg Stock Exchange, and the company’s strong performance is a result of the successful implementation of our 2026 strategic plan. Thanks to its unique agility, innovative approach and global footprint, LuxSE plays a crucial role in Luxembourg’s financial centre. Over the course of the year, we continued to strengthen Luxembourg’s position as a destination of choice for market participants and as a key player in international capital markets,” stated Alain Kinsch, President of the Board of Directors of LuxSE.

Shifting global trends

LuxSE has pioneered sustainable finance since the creation of the Luxembourg Green Exchange (LGX) in 2016, and contributed to driving exponential growth in this market over the past decade. 2025 was marked by the ESG backlash in certain regions and declining sustainable debt issuances globally. According to data from the LGX DataHub, total global sustainable debt issuance amounted to EUR 812 billion in 2025, down 8% from 2024.

In 2025, LGX added 600+ new green, social, sustainability and sustainability-linked bonds. This represents a 9% decrease compared to the year before, but still makes 2025 the second-best year in the 10-year history of LGX in terms of the number of new debt securities added in a single year. The new sustainable bonds on LGX raised a total of EUR 233 billion in 2025 for specific green and social projects and sustainable developments across the world. This represents a decline of 11% compared to 2024, but still gave LuxSE a global market share of 41% in new international sustainable bond listings in 2025, similar to the 42% market share secured the year before. At the end of 2025, LGX encompassed 2,352 sustainable bonds in total, a 7% increase year-over-year.

Advancing transition finance

In July 2025, LuxSE launched the Transition Finance Gateway. By consolidating transition data from four internationally recognised data providers, this portal includes climate transition data on 500+ corporate issuers and provides clarity around companies’ transition efforts to investors. In November 2025, LuxSE added the EU Taxonomy Issuers Window on the LGX platform, which features issuers demonstrating alignment with the EU Taxonomy. Through these pioneering developments, LuxSE helps advance the shift from a project-level focus to a more holistic view of companies’ overall transition efforts and sustainability strategy, fostering more informed investment decisions.

Sustainability report 2025 released

Along with its financial results, LuxSE also published its Sustainability Report 2025. The report reflects the progress made towards the three pillars of the Exchange’s sustainability strategy, namely climate transition, education and gender equality, and describes how LuxSE is embedding its sustainability strategy into its operations and business strategy.
