On 15 October 2009, Investas, the Luxembourg association of minority shareholders, celebrated its 50th anniversary. The event took place at the Luxembourg Stock Exchange, which is a partner of the association.
Investas focuses on minority shareholder protection and transparency in capital markets. It also works to enhance shareholder value in companies and supports corporate governance issues. On the occasion of its anniversary, which was attended by 30 guests, Raymond Goebbels, president of Investas, spoke on the aims of the association and the recent successful actions carried out in support of minority shareholders.
Also speaking were Roland Michel, former president, who spoke on the history and growth of Investas, and Jean-Louis Reuter president of the National Conference of Economic and Social Sciences Teachers, who spoke about the education actions carried out by the association, particularly aimed at young deserving students.
The speeches were concluded by the presentation of a donation to the National Conference of Economic and Social Sciences Teachers to support its education efforts.
The Luxembourg Stock Exchange is pleased to have supported this event. It has maintained close links with Investas since the signing of a cooperation agreement in July 2001 and provides material support to the association. It has also worked over many years to improve investor protection, transparency and corporate governance.
