The Luxembourg Stock Exchange announces the launch of a new responsible investment index, the Lux RI Fund Index, on 1 July 2013.
This index (ISIN LU0940704496) represents the overall performance of some of the major funds domiciled in Luxembourg that operate in the area of responsible investment, primarily those concerned with environmental, social and ethical issues.
The Lux RI Fund Index is a closed-basket index with a total of 20 constituents, each with a maximum weighting of 10%. The revision of the index will be done semi-annually and, to reflect the diversity of the Luxembourg fund industry, the funds’ respective currencies will be represented.
In launching this index, the Luxembourg Stock Exchange acknowledges the need for greater awareness and action in the area of responsible investment. It intends for the index to provide a good reflection of trends within the responsible investment sector, specifically relating to funds domiciled in Luxembourg, and to further raise awareness among investors.
