Lonza Group To Be Added To SMI

The SWX Swiss Exchange has elected to include the shares of Lonza Group AG Zurich (security no. 949365, symbol LONN) in the Swiss Market Index due to Lonza's indicated market capitalisation lying above the prescribed threshold of 0.5% of the total SPI market cap. Its inclusion in the SMI will take effect on the first trading day, Monday, 1 November 1999. The rights of Lonza Group Ltd. (security no. 949406, symbol LONN1) that are traded from 27 October up to and including 29 October will also be taken into account in the SMI.
