London Stock Exchange Group Strengthens Senior Team With Dedicated CIO Appointment

London Stock Exchange Group plc (LSEG) announced the appointment today of Antoine Shagoury to the role of Chief Information Officer (CIO), reporting directly to Xavier Rolet the Group’s CEO.

Antoine, who joins the LSEG’s Executive Committee, will be responsible for technology throughout the Group’s markets including group-wide IT organisation. Antoine will work in conjunction with Tony Weeresinghe, CEO of MillenniumIT, as well as all other providers of technology services to continue to deliver technology transformation across the Group.    

Antoine’s appointment enables David Lester, the Group’s Director of Information Services, to run the Turquoise-Baikal integration process as well as realise the significant growth opportunities that exist within the Information Services division of the Group.

Antoine joins the Group from the American Stock Exchange (now part of NYSE Euronext) where he had been CIO since 2004.  Between 1993 and 2003, Antoine worked for Instinet, latterly as CTO for Instinet Services.

Commenting on the appointment, Xavier Rolet said:

Following the appointment of Antoine, the Executive Committee also comprises the three executive directors on the LSEG Board, namely Xavier Rolet, Massimo Capuano and Doug Webb, plus:

  • David Lester, Director of Information Services – responsible for the Group’s Information Services division and running the Turquoise-Baikal integration process;

  • Raffaele Jerusalmi, Director of Capital Markets – responsible for the Group’s equity, fixed income and derivatives businesses;

  • Kevin Milne, Director of Post Trade – responsible for developing the Group’s post trade assets and overseeing the provision of clearing and settlement services to the Group’s markets; and

  • Tony Weeresinghe, Director of Global Development and CEO of MillenniumIT – responsible for co-ordinating the Group’s strategic and business development relationships with other exchanges, ECNs and MTFs across the globe, as well as developing the MillenniumIT business.
