London Stock Exchange: 25 Year Big Bang Anniversary - Marks End Of Traditional Physical Trading Floor - In Aid Of Three Benefitting Charities

Date 27/09/2011

This October marks 25 years since the Big Bang changed the face of the City forever. It marked the end of the traditional physical trading floor where traders operated on the London Stock Exchange, in favour of electronic dealing which progressed into the modern trading systems in use today.

On the 26 October, Drapers Hall in the City of London will play host to an event dedicated to all those who worked on the London Stock Exchange floor. The Big Bang reunion is raising valuable funds for Mencap, Remedi and the London Stock Exchange Foundation and will be hosted by Paul Fellerman and Simon Cowan.

Paul Fellerman, co-organiser of the event said:

"I am delighted to be helping co-host this historic event along with Simon Cowan. It is a chance to catch up with both old friends and colleagues to reminisce about the good old days and at the same time raise funds for three wonderful charities. We are hoping that many people from the old London trading floor can join us in celebrating this special occasion."
