Trading on the London Metal Exchange (LME) on Friday surpassed Thursday’s record, with 108,708 transactions registered.
LMEselect registered 55,370 transactions, which is the busiest day on record. Trading was spread over 191,994 lots of which 101,280 lots were outrights.
To date this year the LME is averaging 565,639 lots per day, up 19% from the 2010 average daily volume.
