The London Metal Exchange (LME) this week opened its Asian Helpdesk, which will provide full technology support for users throughout the Asian trading day. The new Systems Operations desk is located at the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEx) New Generation Data Centre in Tseung Kwan O.
"The new LME Asian Helpdesk is a key step in integrating LME member support in Asia with the HKEx IT teams", said Andrew Williams, Director of Systems Operations at the LME. "It is vital that we provide on-the-ground systems back-up as our Asian client base expands."
The Hong Kong-based LME Systems Operations team ultimately aims to bring the following levels of operational support to LME market participants based in Asia:
* Expert technology support during Asian trading hours
* Fast on-site support, e.g. operational training and application customisation
* Regional "go to" point of contact for Asia-based participants
* Chinese language capability
* Local technology assistance for LME member visits and events
