LME Group Announces Senior Management Appointments

  • Simon Parsons joins LME Group as Chief Financial Officer, succeeding Tabitha Silverwood
  • MiRan Park appointed as Chief Business Officer 

The London Metal Exchange (LME) and LME Clear are pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Parsons as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of LME Group. Simon succeeds Tabitha Silverwood who is leaving the Group after 12 years of service. 

LME CEO, Matthew Chamberlain, commented: “Over the years, Tabitha has led or contributed to a wide range of LME Group projects and initiatives as well as driving continuous improvement in the Finance function, and we would like to sincerely thank her for her hard work, commitment, and valuable contribution. 

“We’d like to extend a very warm welcome to Simon. With over 25 years’ experience in delivering profitability and efficiency for complex global businesses, Simon is extremely well-placed to lead our Group Finance team as LME and LME Clear enter a new and exciting phase of growth.”

Simon joins from HSBC, where he spent 16 years in a range of senior finance leadership roles, most recently serving as Group Head of Financial Planning and Analysis. During his time at HSBC, he was CFO of the Global Liquidity and Cash Management business and later led the

Transformation and Strategic Cost Management function. Simon holds a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Leeds.  

Simon reports to the respective CEOs of the LME and LME Clear, Matthew Chamberlain and Michael Carty, and is a member of both the LME and LME Clear Executive Committees. 

The LME is also pleased to announce the appointment of MiRan Park as Chief Business Officer, a newly created role with responsibility for leading the Global Client Development, Relationship Management, Product Development and Research teams. 

Matthew Chamberlain said: “I’m delighted to welcome MiRan to the LME. She brings more than 20 years’ experience across data, analytics and benchmarks, having held senior leadership roles in London, Singapore, New York and Chicago. With a strong track record of delivering revenue growth by building data and analytical solutions as well as commercial strategies – from start-up phase through to a mature listed company – MiRan has the expertise and vision to lead our global market development strategy.”

MiRan most recently served as Managing Director at S&P Global, where she led cross-divisional partnership strategy and ecosystem relationships. Prior to this MiRan held senior business development roles at S&P Global (IHS Markit) for more than a decade, having joined Markit in 2003, a financial information and technology firm that subsequently merged with S&P in 2022. She holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Chicago.

MiRan reports to the LME CEO and is a member of the LME Executive Committee.
