Trevor Spanner yesterday joined the London Metal Exchange (LME) as managing director of posttrade services, a key step in the LME’s project to take greater control of its clearing business.
Mr Spanner worked previously as chief operating officer at European Central Counterparty Ltd (EuroCCP).
“We are delighted that Trevor has joined us at the LME,” said the Exchange’s CEO Martin Abbott.
“His expertise will enable us to continue making progress on our clearing project, maximising efficiencies and value for our members.”
The LME’s feasibility study into self-clearing is at an advanced stage and Mr Spanner will take charge of the project.
