LME And LME Clear Boards Appoint New Independent Director

Date 03/05/2016

The Boards of the London Metal Exchange (LME) and LME Clear are pleased to announce the appointment of Antony Stuart as an independent non-executive director.

Mr Stuart is a chartered accountant with 30 years’ experience as an investment banker and corporate adviser. Before his retirement in 2011, he was Managing Director at NM Rothschild.

“We’re delighted to welcome Mr Stuart to the LME and LME Clear Boards. His commercial expertise will be extremely valuable in building and strengthening the business of the two companies,” says Sir Brian Bender, chairman of the LME.

“I am looking forward to working with my new board colleagues and senior management on the next stage of development of the LME and LME Clear,” says Mr Stuart.

Mr Stuart replaces Nat le Roux, who has resigned as an independent director of both Boards, after some seven-and-a-half years as an LME Board member. The LME and LME Clear would like to thank Mr le Roux for giving his time and expertise to both companies.

“Mr le Roux’s contributions have been particularly valuable during the LME’s commercialisation process and in the creation of the new clearing house. We wish him well,” says Richard Thornhill, chairman of LME Clear.
