Ljubljana Stock Exchange securities turnover increased in June

The total turnover of securities on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange increased in June after the decline in May and reached the amount of SIT 19 billion (SIT 14.1 billion in April). The total turnover of the Exchange in the first six months of this year amounted to SIT 120.9 billion, more than double the figure of the same period in the previous year, which was SIT 56.2 billion. Also in June, 74 block trades (compared to 59 in May) were reported by the Exchange members, with a total value of SIT 10.9 billion (SIT 5.1 billion in May). The value of block trades represented as much as 57.2% of the total turnover in June 1999 (36% in May) and was much higher than the 1999 average of 41.8% (the average in 1998 was 37%). In the first six months of this year 432 block trades with a total value of SIT 50.6 billion were reported by the members. Fifty-six per cent (56%) of the turnover of block trades were reported with five shares only: Dolenjska banka (SIT 1.9 billion), Cetis (1.3 billion), Petrol (SIT 1.1 billion), SKB Banka and Lek B (SIT 0.9 billion each).
