Ljubljana Stock Exchange SBI20 Exceeds 3.500 Points For The First Time

On Wednesday, 6 November 2002, the trading day on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange, Inc. closed with a new record high for its major SBI20 Index - at 3.528 points, which was by 1,3 percent higher than on the previous day. Additionally, the Free Market Index - IPT and the (Authorised) Investment Funds Index - PIX reached their new record values of 2.565 points (up by 1 percent) and 2.757 points (up by 1,8 percent), respectively.

Since the first information on takeover bid for pharmaceutical company Lek has been announced, the Ljubljana Stock Exchange faced a positive investment atmosphere, which was enhanced by expected positive effects of the market's increased liquidity after the takeover is finished. On this day the increase of SBI20 resulted from Gorenje shares, which increased by 3,8 percent to SIT 5,066.00, next to a considerable turnover of over SIT 500 million.
