The total turnover of securities on the Exchange amounted to SIT21.4 billion in November after the amount of SIT 27.7 billion in October - the highest monthly turnover this year). The total turnover in November 1998 was SIT 20.2 billion. The total turnover on the Exchange in the first eleven months of this year amounted to SIT 221.4 billion and was 61% higher than the figure of the same period in the previous year, which was SIT 137.5 billion. In November 102 block trades (103 in October 1998 and 64 in November 1998) were reported by the Exchange members, with a total value of SIT 10.7 billion (SIT 15.9 billion in October 1999 and SIT 11.4 billion in November 1998). The value of block trades represented as much as 50% of the total turnover in November 1999 (vs. 57.4% in October) and was much higher than the 1999 average of 44.7%. (the average in 1998 was 37%). In the first eleven months of this year 854 block trades, with a total value of SIT 99 billion were reported by the members. In November 1 999, the share of turnover of different types of securities in the total turnover, on all three segments of the Ljubijana Stock Exchange, was as follows: shares accounted for 58.23% (in October 46.45% and in November 1998 67%), bonds reached 11.74% (vs. 21.44% in October and 14.8% a year ago), short-term securities 5.6% (vs. 0. 1 8% in October and 0.6% a year ago) and shares of investment funds made up 20.53% of the total turnover (vs. 31% in October and 17.6% in November 1998). The turnover with the pension coupons accounted for 3.9% or SIT 835 million. The most traded shares on the official market of the exchange were: Krka, Merkur, Lek, luka Koper and Mercator. The most traded bonds were bonds of the Republic of Slovenia 9th, 12th , 2nd and 4th issues and bonds of SKB bank 3rd issue. The average number of transactions per day in November 1999 was 2,266 (vs. 1,666 in October), and was much higher than the 943 transactions per day average of 1998. The average of the first eleven months of 1999 has almost reached 1,700 transactions. The average turnover per day in October was SIT 1.02 billion (vs. SIT 1.32 billion in October). The daily average of eleven months of 1999 was SIT 0.95 billion. In November 1999, ton most active Exchange members concluded 62.08% of the total turnover (vs. 62.77% in October). The most active members were: Publikum (8.94%), Banka VIPA (8.73%), Gorenjska BPD (7.62%), BPD Fida (7.01%) and Mariborska BPH (5.6%). After a rapid growth during both summer months the trend of the index SBI remained negative in November for the third consecutive month and declined by 1.5%, ending the month at 1,817.66 points. The value of the index SBI one year ago was 1,652.37 points. SBI ended the year 1998 at 1,705.77 points, which gives a 6.56% yield of the index in eleven months of 1999. The total market capitalisation of securities traded on the Exchange (excluding shares of investment companies) on November 30, 1999, amounted to SIT779.3 billion compared to SIT776.1 billion on October 31, 1999.
