Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE) added Mobile Telecommunication Company of Iran (MCI) to its listed companies on 20th August 2013.
The newly listed company has been transferred into TSE’s Second Market from Iran Farabourse (SMEs Exchange), where MCI had previously its IPO.
“Our market has considerably grown, and the newcomers have less impact on our indices than before,” Dr. Ghalibaf Asl, TSE’s CEO stated in MCI’s equities transferring event at the Exchange trading floor.
“In the current Iranian year, ten new companies have been planned to be listed at TSE; five through IPOs, and the rest by transferring from Iran Farabourse,” he added.
MCI equities were publically offered for the first time in Iran Farabourse in December 2010.
Mobile telecom facilities were initially launched in Iran in 1994, with the capacity of 9200 cellular phone lines. At the moment, MCI has more than 56 million subscribers and 1169 cities are covered by its service network, which is attached to 271 operators in 112 countries through roaming agreements.
