Lincare Holdings Inc. To Join The Nasdaq-100 Index Beginning July 24, 2002

Lincare Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq:LNCR), of Clearwater, Florida, will become a component of the Nasdaq-100 Index® (Nasdaq:NDX), effective at the beginning of trading Wednesday, July 24, 2002. Lincare Holdings will also be included in the Nasdaq-100 Index Tracking StockSM (QQQ). Lincare Holdings Inc. will replace WorldCom, Inc. - WorldCom Group (Nasdaq:WCOME), which is no longer eligible for inclusion in the index.

With a market capitalization of over $3.2 billion, Lincare Holdings, headquartered in Clearwater, Florida, is a provider of oxygen and other respiratory therapy services to patients in the home. The company provides services and equipment to over 355,000 customers in 46 states.
