LIFFE Extends Floor Trading Hours on UK Budget Day - Tuesday, March 9

The London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange will extend floor trading hours for some contracts on Tuesday March 9, 1999, when the UK budget will be delivered. The long gilt futures would be traded between 08:00 and 17:25 and short sterling futures between 08:05 and 17:20. The options contracts for these would be traded between 08:02 and 17:25 and between 08:07 and 17:20 respectively. The FTSE 100 futures contract would trade from 08:35 to 17:25 on the floor. Automated Pit Trading (APT) hours will also change for some contracts. APT trading hours will be 17:30 to 18:00 for long gilt futures, 17:25 to 17:57 for short sterling futures, 17:30 to 18:00 for FTSE 100 futures, and 08:00 to 18:00 for Five-year gilt futures. Daily settlement prices for these contracts would be determined at the end of the extended floor trading session. The trading hours for all other contracts remain unchanged.
