The new FTSE/ATHEX Liquid Mid and FTSE/ATHEX-CSE Banking Index will be launched on Monday November 3, 2008 with starting price 2,000 index points.
The new Indices will be calculated daily, in real time, and will be reviewed twice a year, every October and April, according to the Ground Rules for the Management of the FTSE/Athex Index Series.
- FTSE/ATHEX Liquid Mid Index The new Index will provide market participants with access to the most liquid stocks taken from the FTSE/ATHEX Mid 40 constituents according to clean trade value. This focus offers a lower cost of trading for investors wishing to gain exposure to the mid-cap segment of the Athens Exchange.

- FTSE/ATHEX-CSE Banking Index The new Index will capture the performance of the banking sector of the Athens and Cyprus stock exchanges. All the securities of the FTSE/ATHEX 20, FTSE/ATHEX Mid 40 and FTSE/CySE 20 Index which are classified as «Banks» according to the Industry Classification Benchmark (ICB) will be eligible for inclusion in the new Index. The Index has been designed to form the basis for financial products that would allow investors to trade the banking sector in a single transaction.
Athens Exchange plans to launch derivative products based on this new index.
