Launch Of Soybean Meal Futures Contract At The Tokyo Grain Exchange

Soybean Meal futures took off successfully at the Tokyo Grain Exchange on Oct. 11, 2001.

Trading for the May '02 contract began with a starting price of JPY27,000. The settlement prices for the opening day was JPY26,790 for the May '02 , 26,690 for July '02 and 26,550 for Sep. '02 contract month.

Today's total volume for the Soybean Meal futures contract was 21,982 lots.
