The Montréal Exchange will be joined by Quebec Premier, Mr. Jean Charest; Quebec's Minister of Sustainable Development, Environment and Parks, Mrs. Line Beauchamp; Canada's Environment Minister, the Honourable John Baird; and the Minister of Public Works and Government Services Canada and Minister responsible for the region of Montréal, the Honourable Michael M Fortier. In addition, they will be joined by members of the business community.
The opening ceremony will feature a countdown leading to the opening of the market, at 9:30 a.m. precisely, and the listing on the market of the first Canadian carbon futures contract.
