La Electricidad De Caracas To List On LATIBEX On July 13th - It Is The First Venezuelan Company To List On LATIBEX - Banco Santander Will Act As Link Entity And Specialist For The Stock

Venezuelan company La Electricidad de Caracas will list on the LATIBEX market on July 13th under the trading code XEDC, the company having received all necessary authorisations.

This listing will bring the number of companies listed on LATIBEX to 38 and will also add a new country, Venezuela, to its list of nations represented on the market, which will then amount to 9. It will also contribute to diversify its investment portfolio in Latin America. EDC will add a market capitalisation to the LATIBEX market of over € 538 million.

La Electricidad de Caracas, created in 1895, is a company that generates, transmits, distributes and commercialises electricity mainly to the Caracas metropolitan area. The company, an AES Corporation subsidiary, is one of the oldest power companies in Latin America and Venezuela’s largest private company in the power sector in terms of installed capacity (2,616 MW) and number of subscribers.

A new feature in the listing of EDC is that it will be carried out using the ADS format (American Depository Shares), this instrument being used for the first time on the LATIBEX market.
