As part of its commitment to helping the relief and recovery effort in the aftermath of the Tohoku Earthquake, KVH Co., Ltd. announced today that it will offer free IaaS and PaaS Services starting March 28, 2011 to companies impacted by the disaster as well as organizations supporting the relief efforts and the rebuilding of the disaster area.
About this Offer
■ KVH Cloud Services:
- Dedicated servers (IaaS) with storage capabilities to use for critical systems
- Unified Communication Service (email, instant messaging)
- Servers will support CentOS, and Ubuntu OS
- Services are provided from KVH data centers, equipped with UPS and back-up generators to provide continuous power in the event of a prolonged power outage
■ Application Period:
- March 28, 2011 - May 31, 2011
■ Offer Length:
- Three months to 1 year free service
■ Service Area:
- Domestic Japan
■ Applicants Qualified for Offering:
- Organizations and companies impacted by the earthquake and tsunami off the Pacific coast of Tohoku on March 11, 2011 urgently requiring computing resources
- Organizations and agencies engaging in relief efforts in Tohoku
- Companies impacted by the planned Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) power outages in need of temporary, secure computing resources
