KVH Co., Ltd., Asia’s leading information delivery platform, today announced the launch of “KVH Private Cloud Package,” a new packaged solution designed to enable the construction of highly reliable private cloud environments quickly and flexibly.
Based on “KVH Private Cloud” infrastructure, which brings together KVH’s cloud construction and operation know-how, “KVH Private Cloud Package” will be available from 600,000 yen (excluding tax) per month with no initial installation fees. This package enables corporate customers to quickly set up a dedicated private cloud environment of superior security, performance and control that minimizes cost in both system construction and operation without the need to own IT assets.
The basic package includes access to a web-based cloud controller, which provides users with full management of their cloud environment, including the management of their Internet connection, IP addresses, firewalls, Layer 2 switches, and physical servers. The cloud controller is easy and intuitive to operate and enables efficient use of systems through centralized management of resources. With the cloud controller, corporate customers can more efficiently use the computing resources in their environment by creating and changing the configuration of physical and virtual servers, re-allocating server resources with low utilization, and removing servers used for development from the resource pool as soon as development is finished.
“KVH Private Cloud Package” can be customized based on customers’ needs, for example by adding storage and virtual servers together with existing on-premise environments. It can also be used for in-house systems, back-up, and BCP, as well as game and social application content development and platform provision. The package price includes set-up for three middleware items to meet individual customer needs, such as controller display requirements and monitoring tools.
KVH has offered “KVH IaaS,” a highly scalable and reliable public cloud service, since June 2010 and has built a reputation as a high-quality infrastructure for sectors that require a high level of security, such as within financial services and the creation of large-scale SaaS platforms. Moving forward, with new features and an expanded service menu, KVH is set to strengthen its private cloud solution offering by leveraging its experience from providing “KVH IaaS” infrastructure.
“KVH Private Cloud Package” will be exhibited at “ITpro EXPO 2012” held at Tokyo Big Site from October 10 to October 12, 2012.
