Kuwait Stock Exchange Trading Report For May 2006

The index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange reached 9,920.7 points at the end of May, a decrease of 314.3 points from the closing value at the end of April. The weighted index reached 504.55 points at the end of May, a decrease of 21.11 points from the closing value at the end of April.

Volume of trading in May was 3,068,184,000 shares, a decrease of 21% over the previous month's volume. The value traded in May was KWD 1,289,406,870 a decrease of 22.3% over the previous month's value. There were 135,712 transactions in May, a decrease of 9.5% over the previous month's number of transactions.

163 companies were traded in May. Of the traded companies, 47 increased in price and 113 decreased in price.

The market capitalisation of the exchange at end May was KWD 29,688,737,000.
