Kuwait Stock Exchange Trading Report For May 2005

The index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange reached 8,299.9 points at the end of May, a decrease of 351.3 points from the closing value at the end of April. The weighted index reached 419.06 points at the end of May, a decrease of 25.43 points from the closing value at the end of April.

Volume of trading in May was 3,897,860,500 shares, a decrease of 22.9% over the previous month's volume. The value traded in May was KWD 2,357,086,620 a decrease of 17.05% over the previous month's value. There were 164,891 transactions in May, a decrease of 10.3% over the previous month's number of transactions.

143 companies were traded in May. Of the traded companies, 42 increased in price and 99 decreased in price.

The market capitalisation of the exchange at end May was KWD 25,419,139,000.
