Kuwait Stock Exchange Trading Report For May 2001

The index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange reached 1575.2 points at the end of May, an increase of 83.5 points from the closing value at the end of April.

Volume of trading in May was 1,326,664,000 shares, an increase of 13.35% over the April volume. The value traded in May was KWD 256,401,910 an increase of 4.34 % over the April trading value. There were 31,836 transactions in May, an increase of 18.21 % over the April figure.

There were 86 listed companies at end May. The shares of 85 companies were traded in May. In May of the traded companies, 58 increased in price, 24 decreased in price and 3 companies registered no change.

The market capitalisation of the exchange at end May was KWD 7,390,589,000.
