Kuwait Stock Exchange Trading Report For March 2006

The index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange reached 9,896.7 points at the end of March, a decrease of 1,646.2 points from the closing value at the end of February. The weighted index reached 503.9 points at the end of March, an increase of 60.64 points from the closing value at the end of February.

Volume of trading in March was 3,179,273,000 shares, an increase of 10.8% over the previous month's volume. The value traded in March was KWD 1,659,523,520 an increase of 6.1% over the previous month's value. There were 122,234 transactions in March, a decrease of 0.6% over the previous month's number of transactions.

153 companies were traded in March. Of the traded companies, 16 increased in price and 133 decreased in price.

The market capitalisation of the exchange at end March was KWD 31,062,392,000.
