Kuwait Stock Exchange Trading Report For March 2003

The index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange reached 2,873.5 points at the end of March 2003, an increase of 287.8 points from the closing value at the end of February. The weighted index reached 191.3 points at the end of March, an increase of 15.51 points from the closing value at the end of February.

Volume of trading in March was 2,692,467,000 shares, an increase of 90.46 % over the February volume. The value traded in March was KWD 721,232,430 an increase of 86.69 % over the February trading value. There were 51,707 transactions in February, an increase of 53.65 % over the February figure.

There were 101 listed companies at end March. The shares of 94 companies were traded in March. In March of the traded companies, 72 increased in price, 19 decreased in price and 3 companies maintained the same price.

The market capitalisation of the exchange at end March was KWD 11,146,631.
