Kuwait Stock Exchange Trading Report For March 2002

The index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange reached 1,868 points at the end of March, an increase of 158.6 points from the closing value at the end of February. The weighted index reached 142.45 points at the end of March, an increase of 10.85 points from the closing value at the end of February.

Volume of trading in March was 4,243,143,000 shares, an increase of 46.74% over the February volume. The value traded in March was KWD 1,053,249,965 an increase of 69.94 % over the February trading value. There were 88,038 transactions in March, an increase of 42.90% over the February figure.

There were 90 listed companies at end March. The shares of 90 companies were traded in March. In March of the traded companies, 72 increased in price, 17 decreased in price and 1 company registered no change.

The market capitalisation of the exchange at end March was KWD 8,689,343,000.
