Kuwait Stock Exchange Trading Report For March 2001

The index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange reached 1453.8 points at the end of March, an increase of 73.5 points from the closing value at the end of February.

Volume of trading in March was 1,366,216,500 shares, an increase of 53.87% over the February volume. The value traded in March was KWD326,984,510 an increase of 77% over the February trading value. There were 29,614 transactions in March, an increase of 81.10% over the February figure.

There were 86 listed companies at end March. The shares of 84 companies were traded in March. In March of the traded companies, 65 increased in price, 17 decreased in price and 2 companies registered no change.

The market capitalisation of the exchange at end March was KWD6,827,450,000.
