Kuwait Stock Exchange Trading Report For July 2004

The index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange reached 5,679.0 points at the end of July, an increase of 223.3 points from the closing value at the end of June. The weighted index reached 308.65 points at the end of July, an increase of 15.28 points from the closing value at the end of June.

Volume of trading in July was 2,424,137,500 shares, a decrease of 6.2% over the previous month's volume. The value traded in July was KWD 1,017,459,430 a decrease of 10.08% over the previous month's value. There were 74,075 transactions in July, a decrease of 13.62% over the previous month's number of transactions.

Of the 111 listed companies, 111 were traded in July. Of the traded companies, 65 increased in price and 44 decreased in price.

The market capitalisation of the exchange at end July was KWD 18,187,097,000.
