Kuwait Stock Exchange Trading Report For January 2005

The index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange reached 6,506.7, points at the end of January, an increase of 97.2 points from the closing value at the end of December. The weighted index reached 344.69 points at the end of January, an increase of 8.83 points from the closing value at the end of December.

Volume of trading in January was 1,853,934,500 shares, a decrease of 31.33% over the previous month's volume. The value traded in January was KWD 858,845,955 a decrease of 37.55% over the previous month's value. There were 60,261 transactions in January, a decrease of 33.19% over the previous month's number of transactions.

Of the 125 listed companies, 125 companies were traded in January. Of the traded companies, 50 increased in price and 73 decreased in price.

The market capitalisation of the exchange at end January was KWD 21,792,913,000.
