Kuwait Stock Exchange Trading Report For January 2001

The index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange reached 1339.8 points at the end of January, a decrease of 8.3 points from the closing value at the end of December.

Volume of trading in January was 352,430,000 shares, an increase of 88.91% over the December volume. The value traded in January was KWD93,250,245 an increase of 109.20% over the December trading value. There were 8,011 transactions in January, an increase of 63.69 % over the December figure.

There were 86 listed companies at end January. The shares of 82 companies were traded in January. In January of the traded companies, 21 increased in price, 55 decreased in price and 6 companies registered no change.

The market capitalisation of the exchange at end January was KWD6,033,071,000.
