Kuwait Stock Exchange Trading Report For February 2006

The index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange reached 11,542.9 points at the end of February, a decrease of 312.8 points from the closing value at the end of January. The weighted index reached 564.54 points at the end of February, a decrease of 17.11 points from the closing value at the end of January.

Volume of trading in February was 2,868,479,000 shares, a decrease of 3.7% over the previous month's volume. The value traded in February was KWD 1,563,932,350 a decrease of 9.5% over the previous month's value. There were 122,988 transactions in February, a decrease of 9.6% over the previous month's number of transactions.

156 companies were traded in February. Of the traded companies, 52 increased in price and 101 decreased in price.

The market capitalisation of the exchange at end February was KWD 36,462,622,000.
