Kuwait Stock Exchange Trading Report For February 2002

The index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange reached 1,764.2 points at the end of February, an increase of 8.3 points from the closing value at the end of January. The weighted index reached 138.05 points at the end of January, an increase of 3.18 points from the closing value at the end of January.

Volume of trading in February was 703,376,000 shares, a decrease of 60.78% over the January volume. The value traded in February was KWD 198,537,600 a decrease of 53.12 % over the January trading value. There were 15,573 transactions in February, a decrease of 57.55% over the January figure.

There were 90 listed companies at end February. The shares of 86 companies were traded in February. In February of the traded companies, 31 increased in price, 50 decreased in price and 5 companies registered no change.

The market capitalisation of the exchange at end February was KWD 8,500,614,000.
