Kuwait Stock Exchange Trading Report For December 2004

The index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange reached 6,409.5 points at the end of December, an increase of 42.7 points from the closing value at the end of November. The weighted index reached 335.86 points at the end of December, an increase of 0.96 points from the closing value at the end of November.

Volume of trading in December was 2,699,775,500 shares, an increase of 46.86% over the previous month's volume. The value traded in December was KWD 1,375,406,605 an increase of 24.07% over the previous month's value. There were 90,206 transactions in December, an increase of 16.27% over the previous month's number of transactions.

Of the 123 listed companies, 123 companies were traded in December. Of the traded companies, 85 increased in price and 37 decreased in price.

The market capitalisation of the exchange at end December was KWD 21,492,620,000.
