Kuwait Stock Exchange Trading Report For December 2001

The index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange reached 1,709.4 points at the end of December, an increase of 52.7 points from the closing value at the end November. The weighted index reached 131.60 points at the end of December, an increase of 4.64 points from the closing value at the end of November.

Volume of trading in December was 1,290,391,000 shares, an increase of 166.94% over the November volume. The value traded in December was KWD 265,602,235 an increase of 117.25 % over the November trading value. There were 22,857 transactions in December, an increase of 87.89% over the November figure.

There were 88 listed companies at end December. The shares of 86 companies were traded in December. In December of the traded companies, 72 increased in price, 13 decreased in price and 1 company registered no change.

The market capitalisation of the exchange at end December was KWD 8,193,139,000.
